The lower and middle classes don’t understand investment and savings the way the upper class and their attorneys and financial advisers do. They know nothing about diversifying their portfolios with various investments to protect them from change, crises, and disasters. Employers present 401(k)s as being better than they are, probably out of both ignorance, and greed.
